"CAG's Duty Log.
"Capt. Hunter is still unconscious as is MSgt. Voltaire. Both are stable but I can't say the same for Zemke. Her condition is bad and I'm expecting the worse. She's been placed in stasis until we get back to the ship but I'm forced to realistic about her situation.
"Speaking of the Antares we received an encrypted subspace transmission from the Antares via the deflector array, a means of communication I haven't heard about outside of intelligence circles since the days of the USS Daedalus during the Earth-Romulan War. We can only assume the ship has been boarded and a standard transmission was either impossible or they needed to be able to send a transmission undetected, or both.
"Any hope I have about completing the task of covertly observing the Duraqi is gone. We have injured and now our friends, and my family, are in trouble. I don't know what we will run into, or what kind of opposition we will be facing when we get back to the Antares but I have a duty as an officer and a marine to render any assistance possible. We've made contact with the starship Archer and I've set a course to rendezvous with them.
"I'm expecting to go in guns blazing but if the Duraqi have gained control of the Antares and learned to control her engines and weapons they may have an upper hand despite their lesser level of technological achievement. The Archer is an intrepid class, sleek and fast-a pilot's dream-but this might be a toss up against the fire power of a galaxy class.
"We will have a better idea of what we're dealing with as we get closer and can get more in depth sensor readings. I will work with the captain of the Archer to formalize a specific battle plan at that time.
"I'm having trouble separating my personal feelings from my duty. I'm willing to do what I need to assist my crew but I can't get Ryan and Niall out of my head or, god forbid, what I'd do if something happened to one of them. I can't help but prepare myself for the worst. I guess that comes with the job.
