CAPTAIN'S LOG - Almost There (Story Push)

Posted on Thu Oct 29th, 2015 @ 9:59pm by Captain Joe Rhimer

Captain's Log, Stardate 67247.6.

We're almost ready to launch. I've just finished the mission briefing with my senior staff, and they're all as eager as I am to get going.

We're headed to a small planet with has a series of letters and numbers for a name. The locals in the region call it 'Crag' because of the big canyon that circumnavigates almost the entire planet. I call it a battle field.

We'll be going in in three waves, the first is a heavier wave, lead by Jax, E'kruk, and Galil. Following them will be a search and recovery wave run by Soren, Haruna, and Voltaire. I've asked Garran to accompany this wave as I'm assuming he'll be able to do the most good there. Finally, Silver will be running air support for them. I'll be up here on the ship, keeping an eye out for that damned Ferengi cruiser they hit us with last time.

I'd like to see that piece of junk do so well against a full operational Galaxy-class. I figure that fight will go very differently this time. Bastards.

[[AUDIBLE SIGH]]
We a target, as well. A man that calls himself "The Surgeon". No one knows who he is, and no one who's worked with him will rat him out - they're all scared. The sources we've been able to tap have made it pretty clear that he's in charge of this slaving operations. I've ordered him brought back alive if possible, but worst case scenario, he needs to be dead. Anyone who commands that level of fear... they don't need to keep breathing.

We should be launching in a few hours. All of the final reports on the ship came back green, thanks to Cordale and Mizuhara's efforts and that of their crews. Jasad did a hell of a job coming in as well. Finished up a lot of the computer work in significantly less time than we were expecting. I'm just waiting for the final word from the station that we're clear to depart.

It can't come soon enough.
