Welcome to the USS Antares!
The galactic south has become a hotbed of lawlessness. Each major incident in recent history has forced the Federation to send more and more of it's military forces north to help maintain the peace, leaving a power vacuum in its place. Into that vacuum has flowed pirates, slavers, and criminals. Some of the good men left behind have gone bad, some out of necessity, others out of greed. Now, the region threatens to crumble into chaos.
The USS Antares has been chosen as the first of many Federation vessels to return to the region and bring it back to the realm of stability. Their mission is to run out the pirates, track down the slavers, and root out villainy wherever it may hide. She will bring law to the south again.
Do you have what it takes to ride on the right side of the law? Join the USS Antares today!

I've failed in my COly duties! Please give a huge welcome (like extra huge since I screwed up and forgot to announce it before!) to Matt, who will be playing Lieutenant JG Sellehxian T'bex, our new diplomatic officer (lord knows our crew NEEDS a diplomat so Soren isn't the only sane one).
Welcome to the sim, Matt! Can't wait to see what you'll bring to the story!

Another new crew member today. Please welcome Matt B. to the sim, playing Lieutenant JG Zaverial Holder of Faith! He's playing another original race, which I think is awesome, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll bring to the mad house.
Welcome aboard, Matt B! We're excited to have you!

The Captain's Log I just posted sets us on course for Operation Looking Glass. We've got 9 in game days to get there (I'd like to push forward to arrival in a week or so OOC). Feel free to write up any character dev stuff or posts to establish yourselves more over the next week.
I'll be kicking off some JPs to get things started for moving ahead in a week or so, so be ready for those!
Good luck and good writing!

One in, one out, sadly.
Our own Lt. JG Silver is once again no longer with us after becoming unresponsive. I hope that he's well and that the road rises up to meet him. Until we meet again, good sir!
However, as Todd leaves, I'm happy to report that the lovely Lori will be joining us playing Lt. JG Kathryn Dallas, our new aCMO! Give her a warm welcome (and some JP starts!)
And keep rocking guys, I this crew :D

T'vana arrived in the weapons control room, after hastily departing the bridge. An EPS conduit had blown, trying to bring enough power to the SIF field, and three people had been injured. One, critically.
It was this one, that had drawn T'vana to the fire control room.
"Is she stable…
T'vana was in her quarters, when her doorbell rang. She had a short list of possible candidates. Setting aside the picture she had been staring at, since entering her quarters, she looked up towards the door. "It's open." T'vana noted, with a quiet sigh.
In stepped the XO, as tall…
T'vana sat, in her quarters, quietly. Some would say she was alone. They would be wrong.
She sat, staring at a picture. Her only personal effect.
This photo was of two young women. On their wedding day.
T'vana could still hear echoes of Loretta in her mind. Things that would…
During a more quiet moment, Garran spoke up. "Captain Rhimer, Commander Aalto, could I speak with you for a moment in the ready room please?" Something did not sit right.
"Of course, Mr. Garran," Joe said, stepping away from the Science console where he was watching the progress of Billy…
"You're insane," Jamie was insisting. "Absolutely insane, T'kom."
"I do not believe this opinion is any real indication of the state of my sanity," T'kom replied calmly, looking over the chart of the person who was sleeping off some bad Vulcan Brandy. "It is merely an opinion," She stated.

Captain's Log, Stardate 68289.4
We've launched to investigate an odd spacial anomaly near the border between Klingon and Gorn space. It could be nothing, or it could be something. It's preventing all scans to the inside. While many anomalies have fun features like that, the strategic placement of this one…

"We won't let you go,"
Dark shapes surrounded him.
"Take you down below,"
Formless, shapeless, huge and towering.
"Dark crypts of your soul,"
Their voices indistinct, echoing.
"Locked inside your head,"
They sounded intrinsically wrong.
"YOU'RE BETTER OFF DEAD!!"
They moved in, crowding Garran, their thunderous roar ripping through his…

Captain's Log, stardate... uh... computer, append Stardate.
We're back... successful... I guess. E'kruk is dead, Haruna is pretty well being committed for the time being... Voltaire is in jail, and Hunter is doing everything in her power to fall on that sword for him. I'd admire her commitment…

I wish I could sleep.
I've Bear curled up on my chest in the big chair in the front room. A cup of lemon balm tea in hand and a nice lilting orchestral score playing low in the background all in the hopes of quieting…
